Position Summary: 

Incumbent is responsible for conducting drug and alcohol screenings, meeting with patients to discuss screening results, motivational interviewing, providing referrals and assistance with linkages as necessary, and follow up to ensure successful linkages. This is a grant funded position through HRSA.


Salary Range: 


Rate    Minimum  $17.86   Midpoint  $23.59   Maximum  $29.31


Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Bachelor’s degree in Social/Behavioral/Human Services field

Bilingual in Spanish, both verbal and written, to assist Spanish-speaking only patients and families

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Minimum 1 year experience working as a Chemical Dependency Counselor

Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality; knowledge of HIPAA and PHI requirements

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Skills to understand and implement standards and regulations from various regulatory bodies.

Working knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook


Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated work experience with diverse cultures and low income populations

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
