Position Summary:
As directed by the Board of Directors, the incumbent is responsible for the overall management and fiscal oversight of the Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) throughout UC Irvine Health. In coordination with the FQHC Board of Governors, Chief Ambulatory Officer, physicians, and staff, provides strategic leadership, direction and guidance in managing the administrative and business operations of the FQHC clinics, ensuring compliance with budgets, policy, patient satisfaction standards as well as reporting requirements and related grants. Builds relationships, identifies priority community health needs and implements strategies to address such needs.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the UC Irvine Health Affairs and work effectively with diverse stakeholders, especially physicians
Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders internal and external to the organization
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to work autonomously and use independent sound judgment
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare administration or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing community outreach programs
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and change management principles
Excellent public speaking skills
Excellent strategic planning skills to develop long and short range goals and objectives
Excellent understanding of healthcare finance, financial and analytical skills and ability to develop financial models using Excel, Access or other applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in a leadership position in a community oriented healthcare environment
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, including planning, setting priorities, systematic performance assessment, implementation based on such assessment and maintaining achieved improvement
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Previous experience with grant writing, reporting and administration
Strong analytical skills to collect and analyze operational data
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience working in a UC and/or union environment
Knowledge of Orange County healthcare market
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and practices especially as relates to practice management
Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Project management experience overseeing matrix teams in a healthcare environment
